The nuba is the core of the urban musical tradition of the Maghreb and the most classical expression of Arab-Andalusian music, the origin of which goes back to the Medieval Arab kingdoms of the Spanish Peninsula, Al Andalus. The Nuba Hsin is the third nuba of the repertoire and also the richest and the most largely sung.
